Stayed for two nights at Lupton Lodge and had a wonderful time. Andy our host was lovely and very helpful. The breakfasts were wonderful, we had dinner one night cooked by Andy which my mum continues to rave about! We struck bad weather and Andy went the extra mile to check out road conditions for us and other details. Even phoned ahead to the next place we were staying to see if we had made it through. The house was lovely, our rooms were lovely and spacious and it was great to have the guest lounge for extra space. Would love to go back again if I am ever up that way again. Really made the B&B experience memorable.

Would Definately Go Back

We stayed 3 nights in the red room. Loved the historic house and the surroundings and the furnishings were lovely and thought provoking with rich colours and textures throughout. The breakfasts were amazing and kept us full until dinner time. We had one dinner at the house, cooked by Andy, and it was lovely – and generous sizes. The rec room with pool table was a hit with me and my partner – except he kept winning. And ‘Peanut’ the cat was a friendly addition to the experience as well as the wood pigeons in the palms. Overall – highly recommend.

Sehr gute Unterkunft

Die Lupton Lodge liegt abgelegen und erinnert an ein kleines Hotel. In einem herrschaftlichen älteren Haus sind mehrere Gästezimmer untergebracht. Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber und hat uns gut gefallen. Das Lupton Special war das beste Frühstück, dass ich auf unserer Reise durch Neuseeland bekommen habe. Außerdem gibt es Billard, einen kleinen Pool und DVDs zur Unterhaltung.

Our 1 night stopover at Lupton Lodge kicked-off our Northland trip in great style. Stayed in the Red Room, which was more of a mini-suite really, with a large dressing room interconnecting the bedroom and en-suite. The high-ceilinged bedroom was spacious and furnished with a comfortable sofa and flat-screen TV. Andy prepared an excellent breakfast that set us up for the day ahead. Lupton Lodge set the bar very high for the rest of our trip and we were reluctant to move on so quickly. Would definitely recommend this as THE place to stay in the Whangarei area.

Auf dem Weg von Auckland in den Norden haben wir in der Lupton Lodge eine Nacht verbracht. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem grosszügigen Zimmer, Red Room (inkl. Nebenzimmer und einfachem, aber adäquat eingerichteten Badezimmer). Die Gastgeber sind freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Das Nachtessen war OK, vielleicht etwas gar “routiniert” zubereitet (nicht so schmackhaft wie home made eben sein kann…). Wir waren aber sehr froh über diesen Service, weil wir nicht mehr in die Stadt fahren wollten.
Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.
Die Umgebung ist malerisch und lädt zu vielen Ausfahrten mit Möglichkeiten für den einen oder anderen Schnappschuss ein. Auf dem Weg in den Norden, zur Bay of Islands, empfehlen wir die Old Russel Road: kurvig, aber unvergessliche Aussichten! Die Gastgeber haben uns gut beraten.

Hosts are very helpful and friendly. We stayed in the Gold Room. Very nice. House is beautifully furnished and breakfast is great. Definitely recommend!

An Excelllent B&B

We stayed in the Red Room, which is well equipped, spacious, comforatble and quiet. We were still rather jet lagged and therefore booked dinner at the Lodge rather than driving into Whangarei. Our host, Andy, provided an excellent dinner, and breakfast the following morning was equally good.

Tolles Frühstück

Wir haben eine Nacht in der Lupton Lodge verbracht. Das Zimmer war sehr groß und sehr sauber. Das geräumige Badezimmer hatte eine Dusche und eine sehr große Badewanne.

Die Besitzer der Lodge waren sehr freundlich. Auf Wunsch bieten sie auch ein Abendessen an.

Neben einem Pool und einem Garten mit einer gemütlichen Gartenbank kann man sich auch mit Billard oder DVDs die Zeit vertreiben.

Zu erwähnen ist unbedingt das tolle Frühstück, welches absolut lecker war.
