We arrived at Lupton Lodge early in the morning, after flying to Whangarei from Canada. Andy offered us an upgrade to the Blue Room, as the Gold Room was not yet made up. It was a very comfortable room and had a door leading out to a private veranda and garden area which were very peaceful. We loved the country setting. One of the reasons we chose Lupton Lodge was so we would not have to drive to dinner on our first night in New Zealand. Andy prepared us a delicious dinner, which we had chosen ahead of time from a menu of five mains and two desserts. And we loved the Lupton Special Breakfast.
